For the 35th Anniversary of the Hello Kitty franchise, Lady Gaga did a photo shoot with famed photographers Markus Klinko and Indrani to help celebrate. These photographers will be showcased in art exhibits in LA and New York starting this month.
Following that same theme, Kim Kardashian did a photo shoot as Barbie for Australian magazine Kurv. It was shot by photographer Tony Duran and celebrates Barbie's 50th birthday. Kim supposedly contacted the magazine herself and offered to go blonde if they promised her the shoot. As we can see her proposal worked! Although she doesn't exactly "scream" Barbie, she still pulled off some great looks. Here's what photographer Tony Duran had to say about the shoot...
[[ The idea behind the shoot was to capture the different characters of Barbie. I wanted the shoot to look like a timeless fashion shoot as opposed to a caricature -so for the most part we kept the clothing all in blacks and deep greys-very monochromatic. Kim’s hourglass figure was the basis of the story and different interpretations of her blonde hair showcased the character. We tended to go extreme with the hair to give it a bit of a push editorially, but keeping the classic side of the shoot shining through. ]]
