I can't believe that the Oprah Show has ended! I literally grew up on that show--Even my grandmothers attended the show a couple of times and I was hoping that I would have a chance to be in the audience one day...Anyways, have a look at her throwback cover of Vogue. Shot back in 1998 for the October issue. I know that she isn't gone from tv for good but it's still going to be weird not watching her in the afternoon. Oh well, I guess 25 years is a good time to throw in the towel...
Usually people dread Mondays but I was so excited for today and couldn't wait for Monday to get here! That's because so many of my favorite shows are returning tonight; including Gossip Girl and 90210! The best thing about summer ending is definitely the new fall shows (and of course winter fashion). Here is a little run down on which shows will be premiering tonight and later this week!
1. Oprah, Farewell Season Premiere: Oprah Winfrey surprises 300 people in her studio audience with a trip to Australia, at the premiere of the final season!
2. The Ellen Show, Season 8: Ellen taped her season premiere at the VMAs, and celebrities kept dropping by to say hello! She received visits from Justin Timberlake, Usher, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Justin Beiber and just about everyone else in the music industry!
3. 90201, Sr. Year Baby!: In the season 3 premiere, Beverly Hills is rocked by an earthquake. Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) has spent the summer dealing with the aftermath of her rape by her teacher!....
4. Gossip Girl, "Belles de Jour": Blair (Leighton Meester) has spent a fabulous summer in Paris without realizing her former love, Chuck Bass, has been shot. Meanwhile, a newly single Serena (Blake Lively) has been enjoying a Parisian summer of love with boys, Blair and Balenciaga!
5. Parenthood, Season 2 (Tues)
6. One Tree Hill, Season 8 (Tues)
This year Naomi Campbell is celebrating 25 years in the modeling industry. Can you believe it? She has been modeling longer than I have been alive and she still looks flawless. Today she was interviewed on Oprah and it was really really good! They talked about her life and career, and they even showed off her closet and home in Russia! What I liked most about this interview though was that she seemed personable and not like some big diva. If you get a chance check it out. For now here is a clip from the episode and also some of her amazing cover shots she has taken throughout her career.
Here is Alicia Key's appearance on today's Oprah show. From the moment she walked out she just looked amazingly beautiful and her performance was great.
I noticed that lately Tim Gunn of Project Runway has been popping up everywhere on television this month. So, I have decided to put together a list of his current tv appearances, from this past week and future ones. I would encourage everyone to tune in and watch because this man has some great fashion tips, and let's face it, he is so charming to watch!
ps. There is a Project Runway Marathon airing on Lifetime today just in case you missed an episode and need to catch up before tonight's finale.
1. How I Met Your Mother: This week Tim started filming for the 100th episode of "HIMYM". The episode is titled "Girls vs. Suits" and will air next year in January. His character will be Barney's personal tailor/fashion consultant. (Jan.11)
2. The Biggest Loser: Tim was invited back for makeover week and helped contestants find flattering clothes that fit their new form and gave them more confidence. He also lent them his number one fashion rule- "The key to getting your fashion right comes down to 3 components: Silhouette, proportion and fit!(Nov.17)
3. The Oprah Show: On this episode Tim gave makeovers to men with horrible fashion faux pas! "Make Over My Man!" aired earlier today and will re-air tonight at 9pm. Once again he is quoted saying, "Men wear clothes that are too big for them. Silhouette, proportion and fit are our friends, and they will serve us well." (Nov.19)
4. Project Runway: Tonight is the season 6 finale and they will finally be picking a winner! Supposedly in tonight's episode, Tim has a bit of a fit/breakdown when the designers are not prepared for their runway debut. (Nov.19) A couple of weeks ago Oprah dedicated an episode of her show to shoes, handbags, and accessories. According to Oprah and her team, there are six essential shoes and boots that every woman and stylish girl must have in her closet. Looking at my own shoe collection, I think that I have made O proud. Here is the list and let me know if you agree or disagree with her fashion law. Also check out what I have in my closet and let me know what you think! And don't forget to read the whole article at her website.
1. Black Pumps: Just like the little black dress, every woman needs a little black pump
Oprah's pick :: My pick by Nicole
2. Flats: A comfortable flat is essential when you want to kick off your heels but still look stylish
Oprah's pick :: My pick by Nine & Company
3. Evening/ Party Shoe: For ladies who go out more often, you need a showstopping, gorgeous shoe, look for a classic shape in gold or a neutral color, dressed up with sequins or satin (or in my case, animal print!)
Oprah's pick :: My pick by Rampage
4. Sleek Comfort Sneaker: A dressier sneaker in a fun color is your go-to shoe ( I opted for an Ugg boot, although I am a 100% Nike Dunk girl)
Oprah's pick :: My pick by Walmart, only $9
5. Tall Boots: A tall boot is the perfect solution when temperatures start to drop; you can wear it with a dress, you can wear it to the office, out at night or on weekends
Oprah's pick :: My pick by Steve Madden, best seller's list
6. All-Weather/Rain Boots: An all-weather boot that keeps your feet dry from the showers in the spring and the slush in the winter is crucial
Oprah's pick :: My pick by Dollhouse
