It's that time of year again fashionistas--last night was the big Met Ball and the celebs did not disappoint. This year the fashion was very bold and daring, all thanks to this year's theme PUNK: Chaos to Couture! I can't really pick a favorite because there were so many looks to choose from (although there were alot of bad ones too). But one person who did blow me away was Anne Hathaway--she really went outside the box with her look and totally lived up to the spirit of the event. To me The Met Ball is the one event where you can go crazy and wear something outrageous, and this is why it's my favorite fashion event and trumps all other award show's red carpets. Have a look at what the stars were wearing. Where do I even begin...

This is my most favorite red carpet event! This year however, it caught me by surprise and took place sooner than I expected. Also this year I felt like every celebrity in Hollywood was invited. Seriously...There were so many dresses to look at and I have tried to recap the best ones. But I will admit there were a few ladies' gowns that were very unimpressive and they didn't make the cut on this post this year. The Costume Institute Gala is the one red carpet where you can truly push the envelope and go all out--why not enjoy it! So with that said here are the gowns I enjoyed the most!
Taylor Swift, with designer Gilles Mendel, in J.Mendel
Salma Hayek in McQueen..Elizabeth Banks in Tommy Hilfiger..Naomi Watts in McCarteny..SJP in also in McQueen
Josh Duhamel and wife Fergie in Marchesa
Blake Lively, with Karl Lagerfeld, in Chanel Haute Couture Collection
John Legend and girlfriend Chrissy Teigen in Chris March
Jay-Z and wife Beyonce in Pucci...I love this dress, it's so "her"
Rihanna in Stella McCartney, the honorary designer of the night
Eva Mendes in Stella McCartney..Brooklyn Decker in Micheal Kors..Ginnifer Goodwin in custom TopShop..Kerry Washington in Escada
Diane Kruger, with designer Jason Wu, dressed in his gown
Kanye West, with designer Tory Burch, dressed in her custom tuxedo
Ashley Greene in Donna Karen
One of my favorites, Madonna in Stella McCartney...so Hollywood glam!
Marc Anthony and wife Jennifer Lopez in Gucci
Renee Zellweger in Carolina Herrera....love the back of this elegant dress
Ps. This year The Costume Institute Gala Benefit celebrated the opening of the “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” exhibition, which features the late designer’s iconic work.
"Kelly represents a true Material Girl. She is edgy, cool and has a unique sense of style that Lola and I love," Madonna
That's right Kelly Osbourne has officially replaced Taylor Momsen as the face of Macy's clothing line, Material Girl. You can check out her first ads for the line, where she is modeling clothes from the 2011 Spring campaign.
