(Love these, they're so cute!)
You may or may not remember hearing about 13-year-old blogger, Tavi Gevinson, attending New York Fashion Week back in September. Yes it's true. This young blogger was lucky enough to not only attend fashion week but also sit front row with some of the most fashionable/stylish individuals of the industry! Now, come today, she is a muse for Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the sisters behind Rodarte and even wrote a few articles for POP magazine and Haper's Bazaar!
Unfortunately, not everyone became of fan of this little blogger. In fact, some fashion editors are upset that bloggers are becoming so popular among runway shows. But why must there be drama between the new and old media? Bloggers are just as important and influential to fashion-- just as much as an overpaid editor or journalist. Fashion is for everyone and therefore everyone should be aloud to have their input, especially if we are the ones buying it! Designers seem to agree however. They know that bloggers have the advantage of direct and immediate reporting, unlike magazines who don't always have the opportunity to go into print right after a show. So really, are bloggers considered a threat or neccesity for the fashion world?
On the New York Times website they address a similar question, you can read more on it in their article: Bloggers Crash Fashion's Front Row
(Can you spot the 2 bloggers?)
The other day I went to the library and checked out The Devil Wears Prada, it's one of my favorite movies and people always tell me how good the book is. I was originally looking for LA Candy by Lauren Conrad because I have been hearing so many good things about it. And it must be good since all 10 copies were checked out and I was #29 on the waiting-list! But I'm pretty happy with my second choice.
Leighton out in Miami, dressed in Christopher Kane dress and YSL platform shoes. Sorry I began to doubt your fashion skills.
New Year's Eve is tomorrow and I still can't decide on what I should wear! My best friend is having a party/get together and all the girls were asked to wear dresses. I have three looks that I can choose from but the problem is that he just bought the house and doesn't want guests to keep their shoes on! And I am the kind of girl, like many others, who always accessorize their outfits with their heels. So I don't know what to do and I don't want to have a Carrie Bradshaw-Sex & The City moment, you know where she goes to a baby shower and her Manolos are stolen. Which dress should I go with? And what will you be wearing?
Here are a few inspirational looks as well.
I have been seeing pieces of this fashion spread all over the blog world and so I went straight to the source to bring you the whole look. There are so many wonderful dresses and outfits in this fashion lineup-- from pretty much every great fashion designer out there! Alex White really did a great job on this, perfect styling and tons of inspiration!
Kourtney Kardashian shows off her new baby boy, Mason Dash Disick, in the new issue of Life & Style Magazine. And just days after Kendra had her son, Hank IV, the new family shot a spread for OK Magazine. It seems like having a reality show on E! brings lots of good luck and romance to its stars! Congrats to the both of them.
Ps. I think Kourt may have been one of the best dressed/stylish pregnant women this year!
The lovely Jessica Szohr, who plays Vanessa on Gossip Girl, will be on the February cover of Teen Vogue. Here is a first look at her spread and some behind the scenes photos! Also, she seems to talk alot about her real life bf Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) in the interview!
